Assistant Accountant - 100% remote, 10 month FTC

Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a fully remote opportunity that offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to contribute to a dynamic team? We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to support an established finance function on a full-time, fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and a solid grounding in accounting processes who is keen to support the smooth day-to-day financial operations of a business.

Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in updating company cash flow, supporting the preparation of management accounts, and assisting with essential finance functions such as invoicing, payments, accruals, prepayments, and VAT returns. You’ll also be involved in balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and the preparation of financial reports that inform strategic decisions.

This position is 100% remote, giving you the flexibility to work from anywhere while still being a valuable part of a collaborative and supportive finance team. Whether you're looking to build on existing experience or seeking a meaningful role with real impact, this could be a perfect fit.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally with exposure to cash flow management, VAT compliance, and common accounting platforms such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks. AAT qualification is desirable but not essential - we value practical experience, accuracy, and a proactive approach just as highly.
